Obviously. It was highlighted after 9/11, after the initial damage of Katrina. Race is rarely brought up, however, because it's taboo. Many want to believe that it's all in the past, that it died in the 60's. But all the Civil Rights movement did, if anything, was rule that segregation was illegal. If segregation was choice, how many states do you think would reinforce it. And the War in Iraq has made that more prevalent as now Arab American and/or Muslim equals terrorist. There always has to be someone on the bottom of the food chain, and as long as it's not you, it's not your concern. Or so that's how too much of this country and too much of this world thinks.

It's just impossible not to profile in one way or another. If an infant was kidnapped how successful would I be in finding it if I searched in nursing homes? I'm sure maybe there might be an incident in which that's where they were.....but the odds aren't in my favor. The majority of serial killers are white. It doesn't mean those of other colors haven't had a serial killer but if I'm looking for one, my chances are better in checking out white men than wasting precious time on elderly Chinese women or black high school girls. I'm sure some white men might be "offended" but do you want the serial killer found or do you want time and effort wasted being PC? Some is just plain common sense. All Muslims aren't terriorists but all terriorists are Muslim.(at this time) All Mexicans aren't illegal but 12-20 million are, and when you set yourself up as a target group, sorry......deal with it.

Not necessarily racial, but profiling in general. I live in the OKC area and there is a stretch of I-35 that I traveled on twice a day for the better part of 5 years. I was speeding on numerous occasions and I was never pulled over, however if you had an out-of-state tag you would be pulled over and searched. I seriously cannot count the times that I have seen an out-of-state vehicle being pulled over and searched.
If you are traveling through Oklahoma City and you are out of state AVOID I-35 between Britton rd. and Memorial.

Racial profiling is written into the laws, rules and regs and SOP of most law enforcement agencies. This is what happens when the elite wealthy top 5% of the population are "elected" as pseudo-representatives of a citizenry where the majority are neither rich nor elite. Racism is a tool of distraction for the powers that be. It keeps the rest of us from combining forces against the corrupt USG and truly ousting the cancer of corruption from our government.

I believe there is more profiling but I don't think it is entirely race related, I believe there is more to it. I look at it this way, if I see a black man walking down the street, I would be more cautious of him based more on his overall appearance than just his race. What I am saying is if he is dressed in a suit and tie, I wouldn't be nervous. If he is dressed in baggy jeans, an oversized winter coat, a bandana and basically trying to look thugish, I would certainly be more aware of him. On the flip side, if I see a white man walking down the street dressed in a suit, I would be less concerned than if I came across one dressed in jeans and a biker jacket on. I think the police probably work in the same manner.

Sorry... I think racism is kept alive as a tool for "the man" to get us atached to our ethnicity so it's easier to brainwash us! Capice? Yes, there is a lot of racial profiling... and most people are very attached to being a part of a race! Instead of part of a nation, and social class. I am white but I am in the same social class as most black, hispanic & asian people! And we are all the n i g g e r s of society!

As for the use of profiling. It is used each day and will be used no matter what any one thinks. You do it to.
As for Muslim women being stopped. GOOD JOB. Need more of it.

Yes. It goes on daily not only by government authorities in law enforcement positions, but also by all of us on an individual basis. When you see people of color or of a different race than yours, do you notice that they are a person of color? If so you are probably "racially profiling" them. You are making a judgment about them based on their skin color or race.

Profiling is no more than using logic to determine danger through info already obtained. There's nothing wrong with it. It has been used sucessfully in law enforcement for years.
