I am 14wks, 6days. My what to expect book says that this wk was the 1st week of month #4. When I tell people that I'm 14wks they always say oh you're 3mos, 2wks. Which would you tell people, that ur 4months or jus go by the # of weeks and let them say whatever they want?

Its three months and 2 weeks... i dont know why some books and doctors have weird things like that. It doesnt make sense. Doctors go by a 40 week pregnant, which is 10 months. (women are really only pregnant for 9 months and a week or two) but because they count from the LMP it adds two weeks onto the pregnancy.

so your doctor would be the one who set you up as 14 weeks, almost 15 weeks pregnant. I'd just go with that.

here, this is the funnest pregnancy web site there is. It goes from conception. (which is another confusing thing, just like the books and stuff) so if you're 14 weeks, on this website the baby is at 12 weeks. So you want to view images that are two weeks behind what your doctor is telling you.

They have what they call lunar months. I looked at a website recently that said since I'm 8 weeks I'm now 3 lunar months. Sounds like that's what you're looking at as well. Weeks are so much easier to go by!!! If you want to tell people how many months you are then consider this, say my due date is the 26th, then my months would change on the 26th of every month. Good luck to you!

I'd go by the number of weeks until you are about 21 weeks. Then just say "We're halfway there". Around 6 and 7 months, I'd use months and in your 8th month, I'd start saying "7 weeks to go". The countdown is on, Good Luck.

You are 3 months pregnant. You are in your fourth month. There are 40 weeks in pregnancy which comes out to 9 months. If you really want to know how many months pregnant you are, and not come up with a 10 month pregnancy by just using 4 weeks in a month, take 40 weeks/9 months and you get 4.444 weeks in a month. Then you take how many weeks you are along, 14.857, and divide by the number of weeks in a month, 4.444, and you get 3.34 months. You can always calculate nearly exactly how many months you are along by dividing the number of weeks by 4.444.

This is how my doc explained it better to me.
8-11 weeks your 2nd month
12-15 weeks you in your 3rd month
16-19 weeks your in your 4th month
20-23 weeks your in your 5th month
24-27 weeks your in your 6th month
28-31 weeks your in your 7th month
32-35 weeks your in your 8th month
36-39 weeks you in your 9th month then as soon as you hit 40 weeks it is your 10th month

Number of weeks is easier, and let them say whatever. Differant books say differant things as far as months along... Congrates..

Everyone has a different ways to calculate how far along you are and it is very confusing. I went to www.david.kutzler.com and it explained everything to me and the sitewill even give you a pregnancy countdown including hours and minutes. Good Luck to you.

pregnancy weeks are not calendar weeks, so that's why everybody calculates different. Go by weeks, it is better, let them do the math.

just go by weeks.....everyone calculated different with the months and you'll just end up arguing with them. I always just answered with weeks.
