My son did a project last year when he was in Kindergeten on "which pamper will absorb the most?" We chose Huggies, Pampers, and a dollar general brand. Chose 3 different color food color to indicate which pamper was which. He enjoyed it and i also took pictures of him pouring water in the papmers. I chose that because my younges son was in pampers at the time and he could use the pampers. I also measured each cup to make sure the pampers had the same amount of water. Then we decided which one started to burst first and leak first.

He got first place (in the Kindergarten class) and trophy at the end of the year for it.

My daughter did a bubble gum science fair project a few years ago. She chose 5 different brands of bubble gum, penny gum to fairly pricey. Then me, her sisters and some friends chewed one piece of gum until it lost its flavor. Using a timer we recorded when each person thought the gum lost its flavor. Here is the tricky part for a kindergartener, we did an average, maybe she should just do it herself and record the results. Hypothesis was to guess which would last the longest and then chart how long each one lasted and see if hypothesis was correct. Easy and fun.

How a volcanoe works. Use Bakingpowder/soda and vinegar to make an eruption in a Volcanoe formed from sand. Add red food colouring to make it look like lava.
Or explain static electricity with the use of a baloon and a fleece jersey. Rub the ballon on the jersey and the baloon will stick to the ceiling.
