When I was teaching school, I had many fond moments. But one year, a little mexican girl in third grade who rarely spoke, found out it was my birthday. She made me a card and then she took her only bracelet on her arm and gave it to me. I told her not to give me her bracelet. But she said she wanted me to have it, it was my birthday. It was such a sweet gesture. She didn't have very much. And I still have it in my scrapbook in a sandwich bag.
