I am looking for a law, ordinance, or town bylaw that is now on the books that can serve as a model for local legislation. This is for my town in the USA. All answers with information appreciated!

California Assembly Bill 860, signed in 2000, allows mobile home residents and condominium dwellers to have "companion" pets.

I'm not sure it covers apartment dwellers ( I don't think it does ), but it's an example of the government interfering Home-Owners Associations and private land ownership. (Mobile Homes may be owned by one person, but most often they are parked on land owned by another. Condominiums are "common" properties, where home-owners associations make all sorts of rules for the "common good." )

the only regulation i comprehend has to do with the "honest Housing rules," especially the requirement for "actual looking accomodation" for persons with disabilities. Seeing Eye canines are the obtrusive, yet whilst an animal is needed for emotional/psychological reasons alongside with with persons who're clinically depressed, the owner could desire to settle for the puppy/pets. In those situations, i'm notably particular the owner won't be able to require a deposit or a minimum of a consistent with puppy one. whilst i replaced into searching for a condominium place, I had 3 cats. maximum residences/landlords settle for as much as two pets. yet, because of the fact doing away with certainly one of my cats could have significanty aggravated my melancholy, my landlord has to permit the three cats. desire that helps. Oh, this replaced into in the state of Virginia, yet i'm notably particular the "honest Housing rules" are on the Federal point. I had an surprising recommend at a company in Charlottesville, Virginia observed as the Piedmont Housing Alliance. they have aspects for such businesses everywhere in the country.

Well I have never heard of a landlord being required to allow pets. I have heard of it if it is for medical reasons. It seems though that whomever owns the house is the one who decides about the pets. Most places though where I live, GA, will allow pets with a deposit and usually pet rent.

I don't think you're going to find one (I will bookmark your question to check later).

Forcing someone to allow pets would go against their right to protect their assets. Pets are known for damaging property. Pets (especially dogs) are known to fight with other pets and other people. It would be unfair to the homeowner/landlord to require them to incur this kind of risk.

I hope not, landlords have the right to protect themselves from stupid pet owners, that let there lovely spot pee and defecate on the carpet. The renter damn sure won't pay to replace the carpet!

Just get yourself a pair of dark glasses and a white cane and introduce your little friend as your seeing eye (dog, cat, goldfish). Seriously--if you're renting--that is about the only law that will apply.

Check any locale that you can think of that is a sick, liberal-infested scumhole. They would probably have such a Communist ordinance.
