First of all don't stress out about it. If your child gets a good breakfast, lunch and dinner; not too much sugar enough, play, sleep and exercise he or she is off to a good start. Just like you don't give your kid too much junk food to eat, subsitute books, magazines, art supplies and read them with him or her instead of using the TV or Video Games as a baby sitter. Praise the child when she shows interest in learning which is probably all the time. Its such a brief period of time, enjoy it.

If you already have a student in kindergarten you should talk to their teacher to see what they are working on, and how you can help. Skills for kindergarten include; knowing alphabet and phonemic sounds for each letter, knowing numbers (counting to 100 and writing to 20), color words, getting along with others, coloring inside the lines, cutting neatly, glueing neatly, tying shoes, and some others. IF you need more information let me know and I can get it for you. tigerkate07@yahoo.com
