Usually if the story appeals to me, I'll see it. If the actors are someone I like, that makes it better - but I don't usually go just on star appeal, no. Now, something like the Shrek movies, or Harry Potter series - I'll go see those no matter what!! I anticipated Monster House - thought because Spielberg was involved it would be terrific & then was very disappointed with the whole movie.

Storyline. There are a couple of movies I didn't see because I didn't like the actors ( Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks). But with Hollywood making so much money off action/special effects flicks, you will see good stories disappearing and being replaced by 'blow-it-up' movies when 3-D digital is perfected in the next year, and movie theaters make the conversion to the 3-D projector

It quite relies upon on the movie incredibly. Alot of recent Hollywood drivel is such crap that i won't be able to think of why everybody could watch the videos on the advantage of their so-observed as "thoughts" or regardless of... To me, till the movie is on a concern that pastimes me (that's getting extra uncommon with Hollywood videos) , I won't watch a movie till some actors/actresses in there i admire. some function the two some substance and wonderful hunk actors, like X-adult adult males (Hugh Jackman), and After The sundown (Pierce!) for examples in basic terms. desire this solutions your question!

It has a lot to do with the actors/actresses in it, if I don't like them then I probably won't like the movie as much. But, the story helps alot. I'd say a combo of both.

I agree with Kerri D, I go for story first.

Although sometimes I just want to be wowed by special effects; I'll always watch Alien(s) or Terminator. Come to think of it, though, those have really good story lines as well.

For the most part, I typically watch a movie, because it looked or sounded good. I have been known, however, to watch movies just because Johnny Depp was in them.
