How (what command) does a user tell a PC to Shut Down at a specified time -say 2hrs fromtime of usage? I tried the following on my WinXP and someone's Win2000Pro and witnessed no shut down:

At hte command prompt:

at 12:34pm -F -S

Can anyone tell me if there is anything wrong with this command...is it a dud? Thanx everyone.

There is no command in DOS which will shut down a PC, let alone at a specified time.

You could use Windows Scheduler to do it, I believe. (Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Scheduled Tasks and create a task for that time. There is a shutdown command in Win2K and in XP.

the above command will not work because there is no shutdown command mentioned.

Try xx being the amount of seconds before shutdown.

If it doesn't have to be in DOS try "ASDLite" a free program I use to shutdown.
