Cujo still scares the **** out of me.
There was an episode of Magnum PI about a serial killer that I still think about when I walk down the street at night. That's not a movie, though.
The Omen was really scary. My favorite part was when the guy got cut in half in the elevator.
I like gore, too.
Final Destinations are cool the way Death sets them up to die.
And it's crazy when they get cut in half.
The Saw movies are CRAZY! As well as The Hostel!
They are so off the meters, you can't even believe someone thinks this stuff up.
Especially, Saw II when the girl was digging for the key in the needles, that was crazed!

Pre-90s I'd have to say the Exorcist or Poltergeist or the Omen.
All three were eerie, incredible, well done, fantastic story lines,
scary as hell!!! Post-90s - hmmm, not so many I'd choose from.
I loved the remake of the Omen (6/6/06) & thought it was very well done. Good casting & excellent effects - scared me silly, even though I knew the story & what to expect!!! Mia Farrow was really good as the nutcase evil nanny from hell! I thought about Predator, but that was 1987. There is a difference - for sure; I can't think of any significant horror movies after the 90s but could come up with a ton of them prior to that. Maybe I need to watch some more current films!! Great question - thanks!!!

Pre 1990 would have to be The Exorcist hands down. No matter how many times I watch that movie it still give me the creeps.
The best horror film that I have seen in a loooong time would have to be The Descent. It was the first time I've ever screamed because of a movie.

My favorite post 1990, "Silence of the Lambs", I think it's due to the realism. I could see that one actually happening.
My favorite pre 1990, "Trilogy of Terror" with Karen Black. That Zuni fetish doll just freaked me out as a kid!

Ahh..."Rope" is a nail-biter, for particular! That replaced right into a astonishing era there, yet I continually were given into "The Birds." i imagine it replaced into the first one I ever said, one Sunday afternoon in the early 70's and it scared the chook crap outta me, until eventually "Jaws" got here alongside and thanks to the truth that one apprehensive me so undesirable i replaced into afraid to even take a bath that nighttime after seeing it in that darkish theatre. This youthful impressionable 13-year old boy took it heavily at the same time as they informed ya it wasn't secure to bypass the water!

Urban Legend because for the low budget that they had to make the movie it came out pretty good, and the actors were not half bad. Most of all I like it cause when I watch it the one urban legend about the guy in the back seat of the car scares me and when I get in my car I check it for days.....
