i was 7 wks preg. when miscarried. Everywhere I've read and doctor said periods should return in 3-8 wks. is that from date of d & c or miscarriage. Anyone that's been there please let me know you're experience.

It should be from the date of your miscarriage, at that point your body quits producing the hormone that helps sustain a pregnancy. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks and wrecked my car 2 weeks and 2 days later, at that point they were trying to tell that at my levels I was about 10 weeks along. So I don't know exactly how long it took to go down, but 2 weeks later I was still at 10 week levels, so I would imagine the higher your levels to start with the longer it takes. I'm so sorry for you loss :(

I miscarried at 9 weeks. I don't know what my hcg levels were at that time. It took about 3 weeks for them to return to 0. I did not have a D&C, but I don't know if that would make a difference.

I have been through this 3 times and it took me almost a year to get back my normal periods. The hcg levels will take a few months. I would suggest maybe getting on BC pills to regulate your period if you dont become regular in three months or so. But give your body some time to heal. Dont worry things will get better soon. I wish you the best of luck with having a baby in the future.

I've had 5 d&c's so I'm a pro. It is from the date of your d&c. You can expect bleeding until you actually start your period. How much or how long depends on how well they scrape your uterus. It's a simple procedure so you can expect feeling sleepy all day and some mild cramping. Good luck!
