I've read the "official" instructions from Apple but they're rubbish. I haven't heard of anybody who's managed to get pics onto their ipod so if you know how please share!

Okay, I hope this comes out right. First, plug in your iPod and make sure it's turned on. Once it's plugged in, from your computer, when iTunes is up and has registered the iPod, click on File and look for "Updating iPod". If you can select it, it should open up a window with a bunch of tabs...everything from volume control to your iPod and "Photos". From there you will be able to check mark the list(s) of file folders where your photos are stored on your computer. Just select the ones you want on there and allow the iPod to finish updating. Then take the proper procedures to disconnect and look for them using your iPod.

Man, I hope my step-by-step works because I'm telling you all this from memory while I'm at work. My computer at work will not allow me to setup iTunes for my video iPod. So GOOD LUCK BUDDY! Hope this helps.
