Would it be okay to call the casting director and ask when they plan to make the final decision? I don't think I can wait any longer without going insane.

I mean, if I don't get it that's okay, but I need to know one way or the other so I can look for other work.

No, I wouldn't call. The CD already gets plenty of calls from actors. If you are being considered, you already have made a good impression. Perhaps you can send a note saying, "I enjoyed auditioning for you" or something nice and professional. Leave it at that, and find out updates through your agent.

Continue on with your life and keep auditioning.

Having been in the business for a long time, NEVER call the CD. They will let you know. You can speak to your agent (if you have one) and they may or may not call depending on how well they know the CD and ACD.

In the meantime keep looking for work. Even if you get offered another job and this role at the same time, you can take which one you want. Even if you are starting on another contract and take the new role, there are always escape hatches.

I m guessing this is your first big role hey?
Well i would just wait. you dont want to seem to eager. If your already been on tv then you ll generally be able to find more work any way. not knowing who you are doesnt help when trying to answer this kind of question but hey you know what i m sure you did great and yeah relax keep having fun. Possible look for another role that you could knock back if need be

Do NOT call the CD yourself. Your agent could, but that's not really how it should go down.

But in the meantime, assume you didn't get it and keep looking for other roles. If you end up getting two offers to choose from, that's a great position to be in!

NO! You never contact a casting director unless they ask you to call them! Your actor is probably in contact with the CD regarding the project.

If you don't get get it they will not call you, if you get it they will call you.

If you have an agent, have them call -- that's their job. If you don't have an agent, call the casting director's assistant.

Don't call. You will seem pushy. Ask your agent to call. Your agent may refuse, but that's okay.

I wouldn't call personally. Have an agent or someone else do it for you.

If you are an actor then why are you asking us?
Ask another actor or your agent. Break a leg!
