I went to my parents house for dinner last night. They kept asking questions about my boyfriend. At the end of the talk my dad was like "just don't bring him home if he has a broken wing". This means if my boyfriend has problems, not to bring him home. I have had some guys I've dated who've had issues and my dad is a little overprotective but once he gets to know someone hes fine. Well I know that my boyfriend has no issues and I told my dad that. I told my boyfriend what my dad said. He didn't seem to freak out but hes like i'm a little nervous to meet your parents. I told him it wasn't anything he should worry about because he was a good soild person and that I really didn't care what my parents thought because I love him no matter what. Is there anything that I can say to help the issue i'm in. Basically something I could say to my boyfriend to help him not to worry about my parents and somthing I could say to my parents to not have them worry about my boyfriend.

Your dad sounds like he might have a problem of letting go of his little girl. He might not want to see another guy in your life, but this is normal. It will work out with time, your guy has to prove his intentions to your dad, not just say nice things. I'm happy you are in love and I wish you the best.

Sounds like you listen to your parents too much, If your dad made that comment, odvisiouly you care, then he wouldnt say anything stupid like that.
Seems like your dad has some issuses on meeting new people that are you boyfriends, sounds like he worried and doesnt want to meet anyone with problems. Seems like he's the one with the issuse's and are afriad to open up to someone new.
Your dad has issuses.
What kinda of problems is your dad talking about? That doesnt make much sense on your dad point of view....

just do it. who cares if your dad is overprocective. thats how life is, and if he really likes you he will get over it. and if hes good for you your dad will like him.

say nothing to no one and let it work itself out. people have to take time to get to know one another.
