An elderly German woman who was married for 40 years to a Jewish man who escaped the Holocaust has been deported from the United States after her past as a Nazi concentration camp guard was exposed.

Elfriede Lina Rinkel, 84, admitted working at Ravensbrueck, a camp for female prisoners, from June, 1944, to April, 1945, when the Nazis abandoned the camp. In court documents, the U.S. Department of Justice alleges she force-marched prisoners to and from slave-labour sites with a trained attack dog.
