My beau is proposing that the bathroom door in our one-bedroom flat should be removed. The idea is to remove any privacy in the flat between us. Should I agree to it?

What if you have company over? Bathroom doors are necessary - and people deserve their privacy. I would seriously reconsider dating this dude - sounds like a WEIRDO.

Actually the door does not take up any room. Most people want to be alone or have some privacy. Recommend that both of you could leave the door open if you are just puting make-up on or getting dress, things along that line, that would share that bathroom at times and other times still be able to have privicy

I can understand both sides of this. One, if you're together in other intimate ways what difference does this typical private moment make to be shared. Some people have no trouble leaving the door open. However, what about monthly times, or when one of you is sick to your stomach. Never mind if you have guests over. How would your Mom or brother feel about visiting like this? Ask him the questions. Do you want the door off when his folks come over? Or if his buddies are over to watch the game, does he want them to be able to see whatever it is you might be doing in there?

If it's just the two of you then an open door (i didn't say removed door) policy may not be a big deal, but there will be times when it is not appropriate.

Make sure to chat aqbout this. Don't allow it to be a one sided decision, try to find a compromise.

No matter how long you have been in a relationship somethings should be kept personal. Keeping manners throughout the entire relationship is necessary. Removing the door from the bathroom is a terrible idea. If you wanted to leave the door open everytime you took a shower that is one thing, but somethings need to be done alone.

Yeah right, I love it when I have an upset stomach and everyone can hear and smell everything I do. Why can't you leave the door open on most occasions, but still have the option to close it when you need to. Does anyone come and visit you?

If you have a lot of people come over to your place then no. If it gets cold and you want the heat it there when you take a shower or a bath then no.
I own my house and I leave the door open unless we have people over or it gets cold. There is no big deal as long as your fine with it. Do you really want to smell it?!

That's up to you. Personally, I like a little privacy when I'm going to the bathroom, especially when I have my period. There are just some things I like to keep to myself. Just because you like to pee in private doesn't mean you're keeping secrets from him.

everyone needs privacy, do you really want to watch go to the bathroom? He sounds a bit controlling!
