I have been dialated 1cm. for the past 2 weeks with no changes and just would like to know how soon before actual labor starts? On Sunday I had back labor for 3 hours and thought it was going to be the day but it just stopped all of a sudden and never started back up so I am just restless at this point.

How fun! That baby is going to show up this week! Your baby is in position and ready to go! Next week at this time you'll be a mama!

That depends on what she was doing when she said she felt the head. If she was feeling your abdomen and she told you she felt the head down towards your pubic bone, then it means your baby is in the right position for birth. If she was doing a vaginal exam and she felt the head, it means your baby is really low (not crowning, really), and you could go into labor any day now.

I know it feels like you've been pregnant forever, but just hang in there. If you want to encourage contractions, the best way to do that is to be mildly active - take a walk, get the baby room ready.

Below is a link to natural ways to induce labor. Please be aware that you should never try to induce labor until you are past your due date!

Best of luck to you. And as one mom to another - get as much sleep as you can now, because you won't be getting much for the next few years!

Anytime now! My doc felt my baby's head and said I was dilated 3, 75% effaced. I went another 9 days after that appointment (but I was 37 weeks at the time). Soon, honey! I hope your bag is packed and ready to go!

Sounds like your baby's head has dropped (a good position for labor to start). You're very, very close. Try cleaning the house or having sex. You may be able to get the contractions going again.

My doctor could feel my son's head at 36 weeks. I was dialated to 3 until he was born, at the full 40 weeks. The only thing I wish my Dr. would have told me is that his head was going to be cone shaped. Like the Coneheads almost....if that happens to your baby, it turns out fine!

It is wonderful that your doctor was able to feel the head of your baby. With the doctor able to feel the head it means that your baby is close to making his/her apperance. Your baby is going to come out in the next week. Enjoy the last few days of your pregnancy.

hang in there - if the baby's head is moving it probably means the baby is moving into the birth canal and you should go into labor soon - no one can predict exactly how long it will take there - good luck to you and your new little one

I'm 36 weeks and my baby has DROPPED and i am dilated to a 2. I still have 4 weeks to go unless she comes early (hopefully). I think since your not dilating at all the MIGHT induce you.

When the Dr says "I feel the babies head" She's referring to the head being in the birth canal. Your defiantly going to have the baby soon, try to be patient, it won't be much longer. Congratulations!
