How often do you trim them? Do you use clippers or a nailfile? Under what conditions would you let them grow out? Would you feel more feminine with longer fingernails?

I like the look of longer nails, but I keep mine on the shorter side because I have fragile nails that break and peel easily. I also work in front of a computer all day and can't type if my nails are too long. The longest I let them grow is 1/4 inch. I try to file them regularly to keep them in good shape, but if they get to the point where they are peeling or breaking a lot, I'll cut them all off and start from scratch. I hate it when I break a nail. Not for any vanity reasons, but I use my nails as tools. If they break, I can't use them.

I type a lot and I use my hands for many things that would break the nail off. I keep mine just to the end of my finger. I think my hands are very feminine looking, I just don't have super long nails. I wouldn't grow my nails out for the reason listed above. I do think that women and men should keep their nails groomed. I use an emory board to shape and file mine.

I keep my nails trimmed. with clippers and a file...I`m and avid gardener even tho I always wear gloves dirt still gets under my nails...I find typing much easier with short nails too...I don't feel less feminine with short nails but if I did there are some really good false nails on the market...I think you life style and hobbies really dictates nail length.

No there is nothing that would make me grow them. They get in the way. I do too many things with my hands- musical instruments, typing, gaming, cooking, etc... I trim mine every 3 or 4 days with clippers. My question (and I'll probably post this now that the thought has crossed my mind) is I want to know how in the world~ do women with long fingernails masturbate? lol

I have worn mine both ways and have them clipped now to about a quarter inch in length. Yes, I do feel more feminine when I let them grow out but keeping them short keeps them looking good in the field of work that I do.

For people with contact lenses, shorter nails are much better for getting the lenses in. Also, long nails are always breaking and cracking...as nice as long nails are, they just aren't dependable, and most of us have jobs, hobbies, that do not provide a workable environment for long nails.

Life is easier with shorter nails.
Longer nails would not make me feel more fem.
I use a file.
I would not let them grow.

they'll look cleaner. no risk of broken nails. i use clippers to trim them once a week.

I'm a guy, and individually, I don't like long nails. I know a lot of like lengthy, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

A little bit of toenail is fine... but I agree together with you. Long nails are kinda gross.
