The Central Park Hotel is next to one of the Philippines’ premier golf courses, the Luisita Golf and Country Club, designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.
This 18-hole championship course has been recently renovated so you can enjoy it in any weather, all year round. There are water areas all around coupled with great landscapping which is breathtaking. It's quite an easy course if you're not although wind is sometimes a factor. It is listed in Golf Magazines' Top 100 Golf Courses in the World. There are no crowds, no waiting, and best of all very Private.
After a round of golf, you can relax at the Las Haciendas de Luisita Clubhouse or have a delicious meal at the hotel’s Bistro Azucar.
The Golf course is OPEN to registered guests of Central Park Hotel

It depends on what kind of activities you'd like to do...if you love beaches...u go to Boracay, Palawan or Cebu...those are 3 areas where there are great beaches. There are a lot of tourist guests on those places. But if you're the adventurous type, u can go mountain climbing in a lot of provinces or experience the rapids in cagayan de oro. If you're after the night life, try visiting The embassy in the Fort or Eastwood City bars. There are also a lot of malls ...(well that is if you're the shopper type) in the metropolis like Mall of Asia - one of the newest/biggest mall in the country, Rockwell, Market Market, The Podium and etc. There are a lot of good hotels ...mostly 4-5 star hotels in Makati if you will be looking for a place to stay in metro manila

What kind of suggestions are you looking for?
Watch out for "private rides" from the airport, some of them are thieves.
Go see Malacanang palace, visit Makati, take a stroll along Manila Bay at sunset. Get out of Manila and see the countryside, where people are very friendly and things cost less. Some great places to visit: Baguio (high in the mountains and cooler), Cebu, Bicol region (Mt. Mayon volcano is acting up again now, great to see from a distance!), Davao City area on Mindanao...
Learn a few words of Tagalog and/or Visayan before you go and you'll be immensely popular, even if you pronounce it poorly.
Have fun, it's a great place to visit!

1. Carry minimum cash on hand... use your credit card for restaurant, grocery, massage etc... Every mall and department store and of course bank have foreign exchange center.
2. Roam around manila specially along roxas blvd and nearby vicity (must see grand boulevard hotel for casino and stuff) and makati (p.burgos area at night) to have a balanced feel of the metropolis.
3. You can go to mindoro beaches for sun not far from manila and if you're venture some try Cebu another metropolis down south.
I would suggest to get a good massage and perhaps some facial, manicure and pedicure service. Its cheap and envigorating. You can have a hot shower too just to keep you freshen as the day goes by.
4. Sip coffee along makati /ayala avenue (and fort bonifacio) and watch people walk by who knows..

Anywhere you choose to go in the Philippines is a great place but if possible i would avoid travel to the southern most parts of the country if you are a first time visiter.
If you dont want trouble then dont cause trouble and dont draw a lot of attention to your self by dressing upscale or wearing flashy jewelry and most definately don't be throwing money around like you have an endless supply ( you will discover that your dollar will go much farther in the philippines)
I have never stayed in Manila myself, its to much like New York City however I do like Cebu and most any place out in the province is good. I find that Ormoc City or Tacloban in Leyte are good starting points for most excursions, its sort of a central location in the country. ( All depends on why you are there and where you plan to go, they may not be good starting points for you ) If you are trying to save a little money then pension houses are a good place to stay but make sure it is a reputable place. In cebu I like to stay at the SOGO HOTEL, its located in an older part of the city and is very reasonable just be careful wondering around at night by yourself. I have also stayed at the HOLIDAY PLAZA uptown, it cost a little more but is safe and clean with good service. If you just have to waste your money then there are numerouse upscale Hotels to choose from, you should have no problem finding one.
If you plan to carry a lot of cash (its advisable to carry enough cash for emergency situations) only keep between 500 to 1000 peso in your pocket or wallet, roll the rest up and put it in that pocket in the front of your underware or carry a small bag to put it in and tie it to your belt and stick the bag inside your pants.
well, theres much much more to say about going to the philippines but not enough room here so good luck and have a safe trip

Don't walk around with your passport, make a copy and carry that with you. Leave the passport in the hotel safe.
Always ask the cabbies to use the meter before you get in the car, otherwise they will make their full days pay on your ride. Tell them to use the meter or you take another cab, they usually comply at that point.
Don't put any valuables in your shirt pocket....they have scams to relieve you of those items without you knowing it.

Malate...it's at the hearth of restaurants, bars, 5 star hotels, baywalk (where there's cheap beer and free live band performers). It's also 20 minutes away from the airport (take the airport taxi...it's a bit expensive but safe!!) Have fun!:)

When I was there in 1995. I was advised against taking taxis at nigh time. Some of the police are corrupt. so if you are gonna travel at nite take a jeepney.

- Tagaytay (just like Baguio, its cool climate with alot of nice scenaries like the TAAL volcano-smallest volcano in the world)
- Laguna (are alot of resort with hot springs--good to swim in and relax, Mt. Makiling--one of the enchanted mountains of the Philippines, there's the Enchanted Kingdom--its not like Disney Land but it has the feel to it..LoL.)
- Puerto Galleria (nice night life soires, swimming, snorkling, jetskiing, any water sport you can think off)
- Panay Islands(Boracay/Aklan/Iloilo)-... are alot of fiesta to attend to---Boracay--is also like Puerto Galleria
- Bacolod (nice scenaries)
-Cebu (there are so many things to do there...I can't enumurate all of it.. but Cebu itself has alot of things to do, go to, see etc.
- Palawan or Puerto Princesa (aayyy... just like paradise)
- Bohol (Chocolate mountains)
- Bicol (I also forgot about Mt. Mayon--the perfect cone for a volcano)
- Davao ( nice place too)
These are just some of the things I can think of to do or go to in the Philippines.
Philippines has so many beautiful places to visit and explore. I have only been to half of the places I have mentioned but I have seen it through pictures of other friends who has gone to these places and it is so beautiful and magestic.
Hope you take time to visit and explore Philippines.
