maybe... most likely he'd be a wackjob lefty and his music would be remembered as great but "where did he go wrong?" look at mccartney.

Lennon and McCartney made some truly interesting music. Yoko Ono, besides breaking up the Beatles, convinced John's drug addled brain that he was making sense in his writings, public statements and musical maunderings.
While it may be true that love is all we need, how many times can you hear it before you realize that it makes a difference when you have about 20 million in the bank giving you a place to stay at night and food to eat?
If anyone thinks McCartney's Wings produced any great music, then there's a chance that he might think Lennon could still be a major force.

Unlikely. Look at his contempories like Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan and Johnnie Cash. None of them has really made a comeback. I think he'd have made a few more albums or cd's, but they would have apealed to fans.
Get a radio and sweep across the fm and am band: Can you imagin John composing something like the majority of what is on there today?

The Beatles are still one of my favorites. I have my personal doubts about Lennon. I think he had some issues between his two families. He did some great things, but I think at this point in his life, those things behind the scenes would have broken him down. No, I don't think so.

Maybe in a limited sense. He would probably have put out his own "duets" record by now.

Probably not, he was going down the rather odd yoko-ono route at that point and would never have made it
