There is a school of thought, though, that it has a Semitic origin meaning "daughter of Baal".
Just to set your mind at rest, when the name of Queen Elizabeth is translated into Spanish, it is rendered "la Reina Isabella", so there is strong support for the Elizabeth explanation.
