Given the choice, go via Madrid. Miami is a nightmare. You have long queues for immigration and for access to the departure lounge, you are made to take your shoes off, you are sometimes even ordered to strip in the public lounge...it is sheer misery. And there are restrictions on what you are allowed to pack on transatlantic flights to and from London, which is a particularly serious issue if you are travelling to Cuba, where you'll find it hard to buy such necessary items as sun cream. No, if you have a real choice, don't even consider Miami -- go via Madrid. Especially since Madrid's new Barajas International Airport terminal, featuring vast, light-filled halls, has recently won a major architectural prize. Enjoy!

You will never find a direct flight from USA to Cuba, due to political friction. Your best bet is probably to go through Mexico. Check with a travel agent. You don't give your nationality and point of origin.... makes it difficult to respond.

You can fly direct from Heathrow with any travel company, it takes nine and a half hours there and about eight and a half back, it would take longer going any of the routes you suggested.
