That sounds like the Cmos battery is bad. Get another one. See the Cmos holds the information when the computer is powered off. The Cmos gets its power from a batter to hold its infomation. This battery lasts for years. So I would take out the battery and take it to Raido Shack and have them give you another. Different batteries are used for different models of motherboards so I would let Raido Shack match it up.
The Cmos battery is the battery on the motherboard that looks like a watch battery. Just pull it out of the motherboard or take the computer to Raido Shack and ask them to replace the battery if you don't feel like you can mess with the motherboard.
Then you will have to go into the Bios of your computer and re enter the date and time.

As everyone before me has said, it's you CMOS battery. You can easily replace it yourself. STOP!!! Before you do remember a few things. Turn off your computer, unplug it and let it rest 15 to 30 minutes. Either use a grounding strap on you wrist or ground yourself by touching a metal part of the case. This will release any static which could cause a problem when you touch the motherboard. Don't use anything sharp or metallic when removing the old battery. I've found that plastic tweezers work best. You can get detailed step by step instructions from several sites. Go to cnet.com and do a search for cmos battery.

This is a CMOS battery problem. without a doubt. crack open your computer and look on the motherboard for a slightly larger than a watch battery inside a slot or held down with a prong. take the battery out and any electronics store or watch repair shop should have a replacement. be very carful to not touch the motherboard itself or better yet make sure your grounded.

your cmos battery is dying. this is very easy to replace. power off the computer. open case. look inside for a battery that looks like a quarter. there will be a little lever on one side to help pop it out. just take that to any computer store and buy a matching replacement. pop it back in place and youll be all set. this battery keeps track of date and time info and couple other things. good luck

The CMOS/BIOS battery is dead
The BIOS battery is usually a CR2032 button style battery.
If not and its an old OLD computer it may be soldered onto the motherboard...
