Being bullied at school can have a profound effect on an individual however old they are and whether they are boys or girls. It doesn't matter whether it's physical bullying or psychological bullying or both. Being bullied can diminish a child's self-esteem so that they can feel worthless, vulnerable and of no value. This can lead to severe anxiety and possibly depression. The bullied child can become a stereotypical victim with all the body language of one who is constantly in fear and has no confidence in him/herself. It is possible for school work to suffer because the child does not want to do well and get praise from a teacher; the child may find it difficult to sleep and therefore become tired and listless, lacking in energy and 'go'. There may be other effects too such as loss of appetite, or losing interest in things that were once enjoyable. Anger may occur at home which the rest of the family may find surprising.
Sometimes the effects of severe bullying can last for many years - even decades - if not dealt with swiftly and effectively. They have been known to affect working life later on, particularly if bullying starts again in the workplace. Later family life can also be affected negatively.
Having said all that, children vary in their sensitivity and resilience; many children bounce back and can even become friendly with their one-time tormentors, or even become bullies themselves. Many bullies have themselves been victims of bullying, possibly at school &/or at home.
Both bullies and the bullied need help to resolve the problems and schools need to provide a caring environment where bullying is minimised. Its effects on the children concerned and the school itself should not be underestimated.

Unfortunately the effects can be psychologically devastating, but it does depend very much on the individual. Some children are much more resilient than others, and are not as severely affected. Most children who are bullied however carry some form of emotion hurt with them for the rest of their lives, especially because they tend not to seek help for it, because it is a very embarrassing situation. The child has to basically admit that the could not stand up for himself (although that is not really true), and rather suffer in silence. It has a very negative effect on self esteem and can even lead to depression, anxiety, social phobias, and more. Because the effects of this kind of abuse is more inside than outside, it is not immediately visible and people suffer difficulties even much later in adulthood. Good luck!

I was psychologically bullied at school. I think that has helped to make me extremely shy. In fact, 10 years after leaving school, I feel I am just starting to get over it.
Someone who was badly bullied at school can suffer the effects for years afterwards - their self-confidence goes out the window, which can effect every aspect of your life.

Depends on the type of person you are, I guess. I was bullied in my junior school (middle school) for 4 years. It was by one particular girl and her friend (and anyone else who she decided to rope in - I once came out of school and there were 25 kids waiting for me).
My mother used to keep telling me that until I hit her back, she would never leave me alone. I took it for 4 years, then I snapped and did hit her back. No, she didn't leave me alone, and I spent another year fighting with her, but at least she stopped roping other kids in with her, and I had some self-respect and confidence at last!
Fortunately, when we moved up to a new school, she was in a lower educational band from me (maybe that says something?) and I saw little of her from then on.
Of course, in those days (30 years or so ago) we didn't have to worry about getting stabbed. I don't advocate fighting, but sometimes you just have to defend yourself.
I never did have "psychological issues" with it. I am, and always have been a positive person. My mother is a very positive person, and always told me that I am at least as good as everyone else in the world - and better than some. In other words - inferior to no-one. And she was right.
Just remember, bullying isn't personal. Bullies just pick on people they consider weaker than themselves (because basically they're all cowards) to make themselves feel powerful. Very sad people actually.
Just remember that in fact you should pity these people, because they ARE very sad people with no self esteem or confidence. (That doesn't make you NOT want to clobber them with something heavy though lol).
My motto is "don't let these lesser people spoil YOUR life. They're not worth it". You really are better than them.

This depends on the group of people you are asking...Now if you where on Jerry Springer you would have a sex change and bring the bully on the show and "put it right back in their face" or loose 5000 lbs. bring the person on the show and "put IT in their face" ....It is sad that there are bulliesin school, but the bottom line is, there are bullies in school, at work and on our road ways and will always be as long as there are people, so you just have to find what works for you to get over it.

There are multiple kinds of disorders that deal with anxiety. Although most can manifest in similar ways, these disorders generally occur due to different events in your life. Natural home remedies for anxiety https://tr.im/dkKlC
Generalized anxiety disorder includes persistent and unnecessary worries about everyday, common events or activities, which can disrupt concentration and lead to other issues, such as depression.

Depression (neglect of his/herself i.e. appearance, loss of appetite, lack of engaging in their normal enjoyable activities, etc.), regression, low/poor self esteem, poor self image, lack of appropriate coping mechanisms, and could possibly result in extremely violent behavior towards themselves/others, suicide, or becoming an introvert by refusing to go to school and associate with other people (literally becoming afraid of people in general)
