Well, like everyone else on here said - If you are not going to breastfeed it should be ok. Also if you aren't on any type of medicines like antibiotics or heavy pain killers it should be ok. My doctor never told me I couldn't drink after birth - I actually asked the nurse that came for a home visit and she said it was fine.
A lot of older people though would be like OMG don't do that - that's not good. You have to wait 40 days. That's not true!
I drank like half a beer like three days after I gave birth and didn't feel that well - so I didn't drink the rest...I think it was because I hadn't drank in so long. A week after that I went out drinking and nothing happened. Anyways, Good luck with ur baby and enjoy the drinks!

As long as you don't have any post-partum complications like hemorrhaging, then you will be fine. Just remember, if your nursing your baby some of the alcohol will make its way into your milk. But you can still enjoy a drink every now and then. Of course to be on the safe side you can pump enough breast milk to feed your baby so that they still get your milk and you get to enjoy the festivities! You can buy breast milk storage bags and keep your milk refrigerated or even frozen. That way you have plenty of time to "stock pile" a milk supply before your party!

Alcohol can be transmitted via breast milk/fluids, and I know the doctors REALLY recommend breast feeding for the first week or two because initially you product colostrum, which has a lot of things that help boost your baby's immune system.
I'd suggest maybe hitting Wikipedia or something and finding out how many days you produce colostrum. 'Cause if you're done with that and on to producing actual milk before New Years' Day, you could just bottle-feed your baby for that day or two while your body detoxifies and then go back to breast feeding.

while you're worried, study the records the pharmacist gave you with the start administration. I certainly have been on the pill for years and that i've got in no way had any issues or concerns approximately ingesting on an analogous time as on the pill. in case you think of roughly it, there are literally hundreds of ladies on the pill and drink....look on the girls on the bar....I wager extra that 0.5 of them are on the pill if not extra. It the narcotics and antibiotics which you're no longer assume to mixture with alcohol...yet study the records on the perscription and it will inform you no count in case you are able to drink with them or no longer

Sure. We had planned to have champagne in the hospital. Just don't breastfeed after you drink.

If you decide to breast feed its probably not the best idea to drink. You could express your milk first and then have a few drinks.

Just fine as long as you aren't breast feeding. Then you have to think about what you eat and drink going into your milk.

You should be OK as long as you are not breastfeeding. If breastfeeding get some non-alcholic stuff for yourself. There's no reason you can't still have some people over.
