The symptoms most likely to trouble a teether include:
• Drooling (which can lead to a facial rash)
• Gum swelling and sensitivity
• Irritability or fussiness
• Biting behavior
• Refusing food
• Sleep problems

Give your child something to chew on, such as a firm rubber teething ring or a cold washcloth. If your baby is old enough to eat solids, he may also get some relief from cold foods such as applesauce or yogurt. Giving him a hard, unsweetened teething cracker such as zwieback to gnaw on is another time-honored trick. (Avoid carrots, as they can be a choking hazard.) Simply rubbing a clean finger gently but firmly over your baby's sore gums can ease the pain temporarily, too.
If these methods aren't working, some doctors recommend giving a teething baby a small dose of children's pain reliever such as infants' acetaminophen — but check with your doctor before giving your baby any medication. (Never give your baby aspirin or even rub it on his gums to ease the pain. The use of aspirin in children is associated with Reye's syndrome, a rare but potentially life-threatening condition.)
You can also rub your baby's gums with a topical pain relief gel such as Orajel or Zilactin, but most pediatricians advise against it: If too much gel is used, it can numb the back of your baby's throat and weaken his gag reflex (which helps prevent him from choking on his own saliva). The gels are generally safe to use, but in rare cases can cause an allergic reaction.
If drool causes a rash on your baby's face, wipe, but don't rub, the drool away with a soft cotton cloth. You can also smooth petroleum jelly on his chin before a nap or bedtime to protect the skin from further irritation.
If your child has all the signs of teething — heavy drooling, swollen gums — but also seems to be having unusual pain (crying inconsolably is a big clue), call his doctor. Teething shouldn't be an excruciating ordeal for a baby.
You should defintely get a second opinion........5 days is too long for diarrhea in a 5 month old........
bring her to the hospital to check it out too.....
because there is a big risk of dehydration and a big loss of fluids and enzymes.......try to give her some PEDIALYTE....

Teething could be the problem, but for 5 days, she should be seen by the doctor. If she is teething she should also be cranky, and have a runny nose and have a lot of drool/slavia.
Keep her hydrated though!
If she is teething, and babies can teeth that early, keep her gums cool with a teething ring or use a little bit of baby Anusol to relieve her pain. You can also give her baby tylenol to reduce fever and pain.

keep a close on eye on her. Teething causes fever and a runny nose, but diarhea shouldnt be that bad. i would suggest plenty of water or pedialite, but no juice. Maybe try some bananas as well. Keep her tushy as dry as you can and make sure she has plenty of cream on her sensitive areas. if by the end of today she isnt better i would call the dr again and maybe he can give her something to stop the runs

Yeah, the teething can cause a fever, and give her colic which can give her the runs.
Try to help her stay relaxed. If she's not on soy formula ask your doctor about switching to make sure thats not the issue.
Keep her well fed, she gets all her fluid intake from her formula :)
It'll pass.

My Goodness !!
I hope the Doctor gave her something to stop it .
If he didn't .........see an other Doctor right a way .
This is dangerous .
Rice water is good , boil some rice and give her the rice water .
But it could be an infection of some kind too .
So medical help is a better way to deal with this.
Poor thing !!!
