I have 95 Toyota Corolla that is leaking oil fast. The leak is at the front of the car. What could be the possible probelm? Head gasket? and if so what would a mechanic charge to fix? Anything would be helpful in diagnosing the probelm and having an idea how much it going to cost to fix. Thanks

It is losing alot at times it leaves a trail down my driveway I add about a quart every 3 days. There is usually a puddle if the car is lefted in the driveway for more than 12 hrs.

1. Make sure your drain plug is not leaking. 2. Make sure your oil filter is not leaking. 3. Make sure you are not leaking from your oil sending unit. 4. Make sure you are not leaking from around your valve covers. Fill the car with oil and run your engine. Look under the hood in daylight for the leak.
That should cover it. The leak is undoubtably in one of the above. Repairs costs in order of above problems....couple of dollars to about one hundred.

Could be many problems, is the oil coming from the engine, gear box, power steering pump?????? its hard to tell especially if the oil is all over the engine. Its unlikely that its the head gasket because they generally dont leak oil from the engine. It could be as simple as a sump gasket to the more extreme of the imput shaft. You can normally get oil additives from car part dealers for about £5.00 these will sumtimes fix oil leaks, try 2 bottles, usually called engine stop leak. Failing that go to a good few garages to get a quote, garages like to make minor problems sound a lot worse to charge more (Not all garages!)

Could be a number of things. Camshaft seal, oil pressure switch, oil pan gasket, oil filter may have a pin hole in it, or the oil drain plug gasket is loose or worn. Did this just start all of a sudden or has this been going on for a while and just now started to get worse? Look under the car and get an idea where it is coming from, or just drive to a local garage. They may pinpoint it for you. Could be just a simple fix.
good luck..........

You do not mention how much oilo is leaking? It could be as simple as a valve cover gasket. If you are losing-say 1 quart every 3 days it's not that serious. Look around your valve cover above your spark plugs and see how much oil has collected there. If you can actually see oil dripping out onto the ground you have a major issue. A Valve cover replacement won't be that much. 100.00 tops

It is not your head gasket. It could be many things, possibly simple as your plug for your oil pan not being put in properly or your oil filter not being put on right. It could be your valve cover gasket, you could have a hole in your oil pan. "At the front of the car" isn't enough of a description to give a correct answer. Have a friend find the leak for you.

With 200 thousand miles on your automobile, the jewelry (piston jewelry) have slowly worn all the way down to the ingredient the place oil gets previous them and into the cylinders. So the oil is being burned interior the cylinders. you are able to replace the jewelry your self even though it quite is quite, quite complicated and you're able to opt for a storage so your automobile could be there for some days, mutually as you do it.
