Why would you want to circumcise your son? It shouldn't be done without your son's consent, and there is no reason for this barbaric act to be carried out in the first place. That's how God made us men, with foreskin, so what's your problem?

All methods cause pain- the best method is to leave him as nature intended.
The uncircumcised penis requires no special care, as the foreskin is fused to the glans until at least age 2. This prevents bacteria and debris from getting in there, and the penis needs only to be wiped like you would wipe a finger.
Because the foreskin is fused to the glans, much like a fingernail to your finger, infant circumcision is more painful and more difficult than adult circumcision. The doctor must fisrt make a cut in the foreskin, then scrape it off the glans, and insert a bell device to hold in in place while he slices off the foreskin. The glans then becomes an external organ, and begins to keratanize, or form scar tissue. By the time the child is in adolescence, the glans can be covered in up to 10 layers of tough scarred skin.
I have an intact boy. His father is circumcised. I am not worried about the "Why don't I look like Daddy" argument. It's more likely that he will be curious as to why he dosen't look like me. I'm not going to grow a penis to prevent that.
He has never had any problems with his natural, unadulterated penis.

Leaving your baby intact causes no pain at all and has the best result -- a whole, perfect baby boy.
Keeping him intact is cleaner, more hygenic, and honors his right to make an informed decision whether or not to permanently alter his body later on.
If it's a "looking like Dad" issue, would you give your child a nose job to look more like Dad? Dye his hair to look more like Mom? Of course not. So why amputate perfectly healthy skin and nerves for cosmetic reasons?
It's 50-50 in the U.S. now and every year fewer and fewer boys are being circumsized, so that whole locker room myth (which IS a myth, by the way) isn't an issue. In fact, in many parts of the country and in most of the world, circumsizing your infant makes him the minority in the locker room.
Keeping him clean is easy. Wipe the outside like a finger and leave it alone. DON'T retract the foreskin and don't let anyone else. You don't need to clean under there any more than you need to clean the inside of a baby girl's vagina. It's self-cleaning. The foreskin is fused to the glans to protect it and generally remains fused until sometime between ages 3 and 13. (And they have to rip that off before cutting off the foreskin. It's similar to ripping off a fingernail, but much more painful.)
On the off chance he gets an infection, it's treatable just like it would be in a girl. Antibiotics. Maybe some cream. The U.S. is the only country in which doctors seem to approach perfectly normal problems with an immediate recommendation to circumsize. Antibiotics work just as well for a yeast infection in a boy as they do in a girl. I mean, DUH.
His body, his choice.

Best is not to do it. The babies feel pain and there is no real benefit to doing it. Plus, uncircumcised men have better sensation during sex.
My father, who is 70, recently had to get circumcised because he has bladder cancer, and other prostate related issues. He told me definitely NOT to circumcise my son.
It's not often that you get to ask men that have been on both sides of the coin -- uncircumcised and sexually active, then circumcised and sexually active.
Gives you a new realm to think about the future of your son's sex life. My father definitely regrets getting circumcised now, but it's too late.

Mam, you probably have a preference for the circumcised penis, but you should not impose it on your son. He may have a preference just as strong as yours for the uncircumcised penis. Give him the chance to decide! He is an individual separate from you and deserves to start life out with the whole penis that nature gave him. Consciously or unconsciously he will one day realize the losses he suffers because he was circumcised. Mam, "take the whole baby home."

They used the clamp on my son and it worked great. He had no bleeding, no stitches. It has healed very nicely and we have had no problems with it. It was very easy to care for and keep clean. They gave him a pacifier to suck on and he didn't even make a peep. It was so quick, I don't think he even noticed.
Make the decision for yourself. Do not let others scare you into not doing it. One of my brothers was not circumcised and then at age 3 had to be... that was horrible! While I realise he is not the norm, I think it is a personal decision and as long as you are OK with it that is all that matters. It is your baby not anyone else's. Good luck and congrats!

The least pain and best result come from leaving your child intact, just like you would a girl baby. There is no strong medical reason for circumcision. The AAP now recommends AGAINST routine infant circumcision.

Most all are safe and effective methods to remove the foreskin however as a nurse that has assisted in many and my own personal opinion is the gomco clamp does the best job. It is quick and clean and seal off the severerd skin so that there is no bleeding and no stitches needed. It also removes more skin than the other methods and gives the best result.
The plastic bell is the cap that is tied around the foreskin with a string. The skin forward of the cap is trimmed off and the cap stays in place for several days until it falls off and gives the worst result usually not taking off enough skin.

Don't let them do it with the plastic ring (cap) It is the worst of all the methods. It only takes off the very tip of the foreskin, and sometimes comes out crooked.
