I went to a website and took the tests there and found out I have the symptoms of having too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. I have been using progesterone cream for two months and don' t have the cramps like I used to have nor the insane moodiness I get the week prior to my period.
I also switched to organic milk so that the hormones in milk are not going into my system or that of my children.

Soy protein is a phytoestrogen. They have been shown to reduce the symptoms of menopause. In a study published in Obstetrics and Gynecology, researchers found that women who consumed 60 grams of isolated soy protein daily reported a reduction in moderate to severe hot flashes. I learned in school that you only needed 25 grams a day to help out since after menopause your body no longer had the amounts of circulating estrogen. Soy's chemical structure is very similar to estrogen. I like genisoy bars they are an easy way to get 15 grams into your die. Also the soy nuts (they have chocolate covered ones yum) and crips are not that bad and if you write the company and ask for a sample of all of their products I am pretty sure they will send it to you. I did a nutrition lecture on so called "nutrition bars" once and they sent me over 100 free ones. Good luck in your soy hunt.

Different glands and organs throughout the body produce hormones. For example, the pancreas produces the hormone insulin, whereas the ovaries produce estrogens and progesterone. Other glands such as the pituitary and hypothalamus in the brain secrete hormones such as FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) that control how much estrogen and progesterone are produced by the ovaries.
