for many years, i have been punishing my kids by use of solitary confinement. they are usually in the closet for a couple weeks at a time. they seem just fine living off of paint chips from the old walls. for me, this seems like an acceptable form of punishment. I get the feeling that it may be damaging their self esteem though. do you agree with me or do you have any other suggestions?

What the heck is your problem i really hope you are kidding cause that is no way to treat a child no matter how bad they act i think they should get together and lock your a** in the closet. You need help. Go see a therapist.
