Yes it absolutely does. It destroys all the trust of the marriage and is extremely disrespectful.

In the United States affairs don't help marriages.
HOWEVER, other cultures have different views. I remember the WHOLE country being in an uproar about President Clinton having an affair in the white house.
The majority of the world laughed at us for that. The President of France died during that same time and both his wife and mistress were publicly at the funeral standing next to each other.
So affairs don't destroy marriages, they are only a sign that the marriage isn't perfect. What the couple does about working on the marriage is what destroys of strengthens the marriage.

it depends there was a "investigation"on 20/20 about a year ago and it had interviwed two couples where the spouse had had an affair. one coupl ehad been married for 25+ years and went to see a marriage counsler to get through the infidelity and were ding great, while the other couple newlyweds, tried to put the pieces back together but in the end they called it off and went their seperate ways. the reason why the older couple decide to work it out was because the spouse had never cheated before and they have like four kids together and are very much in love with eacher. the spouse even quit his job and started working from home just so he could prove to his wife that she was the only one. so it depends. i always told my husband if he did it, i would stay with him but he would be castrated.

OMG are you kidding???? Cheating, affairs, the whole lot....thats the most awful thing you can do to someone! How could u do that to someone who loved and trusted you?? That's awful! And the cultures that you are probably talking about, there was probably no love involved in the marriage anyway....but that's not an excuse. You're bound to that person, you are supposed to share everything with THEM, not share everything with everyone you meet!

Yes, some people are more "open" in their relationships, but most people would be completely heartbroken. I know I would. It breaks trust, and it changes things forever. People will try and work things out, but a lot of the time it's just too difficult to forget. If you're going to cheat, don't get married. Period. Or get a fricken divorce first.

Certainly doesn't help the majority of marriages. Certainly in different cultures there are varous beliefs. But in North America the easiest way to cause a marriage to fail is by being unfaithful.

It really doesnt matter what country you come from, or what gender you are. Cheating from anyone in any type of comitted relationship is just plain wrong. It opens your world up to many serious problems from helath realted issues to having children.
Its lying and if you think you need to be with more than one person you should never get involved with anyone.

any man or woman who has an affair outside of their marriage will destroy the marriage and all trust their partner ever had in them .if a person wants to have a new partner , get rid of the one you have first.
