Avatar the last airbender. I'ts a great show and the critiques along with their reviews say the same. I'ts a very entertaining show with a story line that's nothing average. Check it out 8pm every friday nights for new episodes on Nick and 630pm throughout the week for reruns. I'ts the only animation on tv.com's top ten show list. That has to carry some value. But, like with anything I suggest you appraise the show's quality be viewing it yourself. You can even watch videos at youtube.com. Just type in 'avatar the last airbender' and you can watch every show that's been released from your pc.

i would say rurouni kenshin. i am currently watching it and it has become one of ym fav's. hehe it's got a bit of action and romance and it's set in the old japanese days. and he looks pretty hot when he's serious :P. i've recommended it to so many people and they all loved it. here's a summary:
"Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. Not a ronin but a rurouni, he was never a samurai, but an assassin of utmost skill in the Meiji restoration, who in the turning point of the war simply walked away. His travels lead him to Tokyo in the 11th year of the Meiji era, where he befriends a female Kendo master, a former thief, a brawler and a doctor all with their own secrets. Together they fight off the enemies surfacing from the dark past that Kenshin cannot escape."

Avatar the last airbender isn't bad but it isn't considered anime. By the way...Naruto>>>Avatar. I like the recent ads toonami has, their employing guerilla tactics. Who would win between Jake long and Naruto*segways to naruto smashing kiba's face into the ground* :). I got money on my boy Naruto as long as he doesn't get fillers. I heard that the Japanese version of One Piece is actually more popular than Naruto. Some recent anime I would advise would be Spiral or Death Note.

Rorouni Kenshin because it follows Japanese history really well and I also like Full Metal Alchemist for the story line.

naruto...naruto is really cool and really intersting
you will get addicted to it...it's that good...
Also samurai champloo is really cool..
and if you have heard of deathnote...which i just got into it's
pretty interseting but i couldn't say for sure because i haven't seen that much of it...but definetly look up naruto and samurai
champloo...they are the best and you will love it!!
