try eating some plain biscuits first thing in the morning with a cuppa and also you can buy crystalised ginger which is very, very good for morning sickness, I swore by it.... you can get it from the supermarket in the cakes section and it comes in handy little tubs - great for carrying around, p.s. its actually quite nice too - also don't go too long without a snack as this makes it worse - hence the plain biscuits!

With my first pregnancy I was sick to my stomach 5-10 times a day day and night. Everyone told me to eat crackers or dry toast in bed before I got up int the morning. This helped to some degree in that I was no longer dry heaving, but I'd still get sick. A friend of mine told me her pre-natal vitamins always made her sick if she took them in the morning. I started taking mine at supper, but this didn't really impact how often I got sick. I never found anything that actually stopped me from getting sick, but I had stopped getting sick by the middle of my 5th month. I have heard that morning sickness is worse when you are carrying a girl; in my experience it seems to be true. I was sick often with my daughter, but not at all with either of my boys. The only consolation I can give you is that throwing up has never been a big deal since then. I got so used to holding it in that now if I'm sick there is rarely a problem and I can cope with the nausea better than most people I know. Good luck, and hang in there!

i am also in the same situation (6weeks 1/2), maybe slightly better because this is my third pregnancy and I learnt how to recognise the signs.. read some of the responses about ginger biscuits, will definitely try them as well. but what worked for me is too eat something slightly bitter or sour, lemon, orange, sometimes even spread a little bit of salt on it - but do not overdo this).. by the time i am ready to take breakfast, i really go for what i WANT to eat the moment, nothing else, sit comfortably in front of the TV, eat little portions at a time, and take the time to stay in one place for at least 1/2 hour to an hour... don't worry, these monring sickness tend to disappear after the third or fourth month, and then you can really enjoy being pregnant!

Are you actually throwing up? If so, wait until the spasms die down, then eat something like a cracker. Eat little and often. I always felt better for about half an hour after I'd eaten something but I had to time it right.
Speak to your doctor. If you can't cope, they will prescribe something. I was sick for three out of my four pregnancies, for the full nine months. Middle pregnancy - just a bit of queasiness in the morning! The rest, I was throwing up up to 15 times a day. It's horrible. All my sympathies. And if anyone tells you it's all in your head, throw up on them.:)

I was also suggested ginger, ginger biscuits and stuff like that.
I don't like ginger at all.
Another suggestion is a travel sickness wrist band.
I tried this and helped a bit,but still feel bad in the mornings til I get some porridge. Am ok until I am hungry again.
Eat little and often.
Good luck

Nothing ever helped my morning sickness (or rather all day sickness). I found out that lying down in a comfortable place and nibbling on some saltine crackers helped out. Also took this cherry flavored liquid I was told about by my doctors. I cant think of the name right off, but its over the counter and I bought it from Walgreens...if that helps any.

eating a dry bisuit as soon as you wake up in the morning use to help me ( in bed) then stay in bed for a little while, i noticed if i got straight out of bed in the morning i was always really sick but if you spend that little bit longer it should hopefully make it alot better but sometimes there is nothing you can do and you just need to go with it, my morning sickness last till about 13/14 weeks but it does get better as the wks past so good luck

Oh you poor thing, my sister suffered terribly! Eat regular small amounts so your stomach is never completely empty, and try eating small bits of ginger biscuit, and drinking peppermint tea - both are great at settling stomachs.
Hopefully this sickness won't last much longer - best of luck with everything!

I tried it all, nothing worked. People told me to keep Saltine Crackers by my bed and eat 2 or 3 before I got out of bed, do not get up too fast....you can try those
