It's always worth seeing what other people have submitted as their review of pubs on various websites. I found two for the Jolly Judge, both of which recommend it, but for completely contrasting reasons.

1. Knowhere
"The Jolly Judge in Torre is always worth a visit for the contrasting crowds of cynical and sour-faced workers from the Jobcentre, neatly contrated with the relieved and raucous minor villains from the magistrates court just across the road."

2. Beer In The Evening
"Friendly service from this traditional town pub at the top of Union street."
