I gots to get me some of what that guy was smoking/ drinking/ eating/ whatever. I haven't heard such utter drivel since . . . um . . . yesterday, when we had yet another looney tunes on here claiming that the moon landings were a hoax, and that the attacks on the World Trade Center were orchestrated by the CIA, and that Elvis is alive and well in Las Vegas.

How in the world is a 35mm camera on a tripod in a backyard is Sasketchewan going to prove there's an atmosphere on the moon? What a lulu!

It's hard to tell if they got anything right.

The "photo" looks like an abstract oil painting. It might be a picture of a lunar eclipse photographed with a digital camera (not set up quite right) through light cloud cover, but the foreground object looks fake, perhaps Photoshopped.

All conclusions drawn from the photo are fantasy.

Well for a start there is a lunar and solar eclipse every year - in some cases more than one and as for a planetary alignment - I assume that he means that all the planets are in a line with the sun - that's not going to happen in my life time and even if it did the gravitational effects would be... lets see oh yes zero.

Hey, I wouldn't dispute Olsen's photo. I saw the same thing.... in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. That must be proof of an atmosphere on the moon. I've seen Bugs Bunny on the moon breathing and talking... so there must be air there. And a Lunar eclipse only happens every 120 years....wow... thay makes me over 900 years old.

The first thing that's wrong is calling this halfwit an astronomer. It pretty much goes downhill from there.

How stupid can people get?

Wait, don't answer that, I don't want to know!!!!

I don't suppose anyone has written to their editor, telling them to do a little more fact-checking next time?
