If they can compete, why not. In many other sports, women are competing with and against men. For example, there are several female drives in car racing, both Hot Rod and I believe Indy.

One guy mentioned that there are women race car drivers; not the same thing. Sure, all drivers risk an accident, but in football, every play can be an accident. There might be some tough women out there, but I don't think there are many that hit the 250 lb. range (all muscle), bench 225 lbs. fifteen times, or have the durability to take a pounding for sixty minutes.
So, do I have a problem with them trying out? NO
Should they be allowed to make the team? SURE
In all honesty, IF a few women were able to make a team and actually become starters, I don't think it would take long before the rest of the women, with dreams of playing in the NFL, would change their minds about it!
I have to tell you, I would LOVE to see Brain Urlacher put the smack down on some 150 lb female running back. *smirk*
It wouldn't be pretty.

No and for alot of reasons.
#1 Guys will always feel the need to protect a Girl. If she gets cheapshoted the bench will clear and half the team will be kicked off or suspended.
#2 No. Football Coaches can be real *******. They will not hesitate to call you a Fat slow worthless piece of Sh** and then expect you to go out on the next play and kick some A**. Girls don't work that way (Typically).
# 3 No. The physical nature of the game I think with the addition of Men it's too much for even the Buffest girl to handle. Maybe out of the Millions of women on the planet I'd say a half of percentage couldn handle the Physical nature of the game.
#4 No. For alot of things you don't see when you watch the game that happens out there. In the pile guys punch nuts, take sand and pour it your eyes, spit in your face, try to uppercut you in the throat. Imaginge thats a girl on the bottom of the pile getting all kind of things grabbed and twisted and touched. You better belive guys will try to do everything imaginable. But no one will see it to stop it ever.
# 5 No becasue on away games they will need to find Special accomadations for girls to Shower, get dressed and things of that nature. It would be a bit of a hassel.
#6 YES because anything is possible, I just don't think it's a good Idea. Guys have thier sports girls have thier sports lets just keep it that way when it comes to Football.

If they can make the team it would happen. The NFL is a business like any other. They are always looking for the best qualified person to do a job. The problem with a women trying out for a job in the NFL is that they just can't do it physically. I know there are always gonna be great women athletes, but the only ones that are arguing the point for the most part don't really know the game. They're just feminist that wanna be heard...

if they want to get hurt bad sure but no i think it would be a a bad idea, look at female basketball players they are way slower then the men and the point totals are much less then a mens game, also why stop at football why not sports like boxing and hockey? cause you know the answer to that one dont you ,how many female boxers could take a hit and not buckle?even if the weight class is the same men have 10 %more upper body strength, thats a medical fact

Have you SEEN the size of NFL players? Do you understand how hard a lineman can hit you? Men are built a little more durable than women, men have been genetically altered by their lifstyle over the last few 10 thousands of years to be bigger and stronger than 95% of the women out there. Even a place kicker has to take a hit every once in a while. So, no I don't think women should be allowed to play in the NFL.

They already do....they are called cheerleaders.
Should they be allowed to play the regular positions? I guess if they are able to handle all the training and meet the criteria then perhaps but I doubt there are women that are up to par with the men of football. Its a rough and tough sport. You literally have to look and be build like a guy to play the sport.

I think they SHOULD be able to play, but COULD they is another question. I suppose one of them could be a kicker or punter. However, the guys in the NFL are SO big, and SO strong, it would likely take a woman who's gifts make Michael Jordan look like a chump. Basketball is one thing, but football is highly unlikely.

I think only if she is a professional body builder and can handle her own. If not she will definatlt get hurt. Men take football very seriously and wouldn't like sharing the field with women. I wouldn't want to be on the field with them if I was the one who pissed them off!

I don't think women should be able to play, but I do know some that do. Former Ohio State center and starting New York Jets center, Nick Mangold's younger sister is a lineman (linewoman) at a mid-size catholic high school in Ohio (Kettering Alter High School). Apparently she is pretty darn good.
