I didn't regret my time in college and coming out with a ton of debt. I knew that the only way to have any sort of decent job was to have a college education. And when I was repaying my loans it was the only bill I didn't complain about paying.

No. It can help you get established in the 'real world'. A high college debt after you earn your degree will help establish your credit score. If you pay it on time, it will be positive on your report.
Also, it is just a bill. When you buy an expensive home that the job your college education prepared you for, you will have a monthly bill. This bill will not make you wish you never bought a home.
One day, your bill from college will be totally paid off. It will not be with you forever.

Sometimes it can be a deterrent to going to a University particularly when looking at TODAY's prices for going to a Univesityi which are WAY OUT OF kelter with reality.
The big gamble in today's society is that you may have a big debt and when graduating, you have no job.. that is becoming more and more the problem today.

Heck no. Education is never a waste of time or money. I took out thousands of dollars in loans, but I've already paid back a lot, and I'm still in grad school. Having a 4-year education is almost necessary these days for even entry level jobs. Many empolyers will even pay your loans for you! Or, if you become a teacher, the federal government will forgive your loans.

No - you'll have debt no matter what you do and it will never go away, so you may as well have had a good time getting it.
