Hello Wondering,

I can assure you that there is some difference between a psychic and a medium .... because I present 2 different webpages on this aspects:

What can one expect from a psychic medium?:
http://www.handresearch.com/hand/Evolutie/psychic-medium.htm

What can one expect from a psychic reading?:
http://www.handresearch.com/hand/Evolutie/psychic-readings.htm

Nevertheless, in a nut shell:
- a medium claims being able to make contact with 'the spiritual world'.
- a psychic claims to be able to percieve observations beyond the 5 normal senses.

I hope this helps you a little bit.

Best wishes from The Netherlands.

Psychic Advice differs between the medium, clairvoyant, tarot reader and channeler.

Generally, the practicing psychic is called a medium.

Medium: An agent through which something else is transmitted or carried.

Receiving Psychic Advice is usually called ‘having a reading’.

A psychic medium receives information through:

• Clairvoyance: the ability to see what isn’t seen through the eyes

• Clairaudience: to hear what isn’t heard through the ears

• Clairsentience: to be able to touch, taste or smell beyond the natural range of these senses.

A psychic is someone who is sensitive to nonphysical or supernatural forces and influences : marked by extraordinary or mysterious sensitivity, perception, or understanding.
A medium is an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits.
I believe that they are different, however, a psychic can also be a medium. Mediums can often channel spirits, while psychics generally don't.

A psychic is someone who can see into the future and the difference is that a medium talks with dead people while psychics can (read minds) and see into the future

In today's vernacular, the two terms are used almost interchangably. Technically, a medium is a psychic who can talk to dead people, one who channels the dead. A psychic covers a broader range of skills included the afore mentioned communing with the dead, but also seeing the future, advising on love, etc. Hope this helps!

A psychic is someone who is able to use their highly-developed "sixth sense" of intuition to supposedly forsee future events and also to channel other people's thoughts and futures. A medium is someone who can communicate with the dead and bring their messages back to the living. Like Whoopi Goldberg on Ghost-remember how she was able to talk to Patrick Swayze's character even though he was dead? And that one part where his spirit actually jumps inside her? That's what a medium is.
