What is a psychic? And what is the difference between a psychic and a medium? Are they the same thing?

- a medium claims being able to make contact with 'the spiritual world'.
- a psychic claims to be able to percieve observations beyond the 5 normal senses.

A medium is an individual held to be a channel of communication between the earthly world and a world of spirits.
I believe that they are different, however, a psychic can also be a medium. Mediums can often channel spirits, while psychics generally don't.

In today's vernacular, the two terms are used almost interchangably. Technically, a medium is a psychic who can talk to dead people, one who channels the dead.
