I'll go ahead and de-bunk this one.
The 2005 world seires champion Chicago White Sox were managed my Ozzie Guillen. It was, in fact, Guillen's second season managing the White Sox. Sorry man, better luck with you next theory.

I'm a Cubs fan, so I certainly hope your theory is true -- though, as another answerer pointed out, Ozzie Guillen was in his second year as the manager of the White Sox when they won.
I think a lot will depend on whether the Cubs can: 1) Improve their starting pitching rotation (and "improve" includes simply making it more stable and consistent), 2) Add a "big bat" to the lineup to boost offensive production, 3) Somehow raise their OBP, which has been pathetic, and 4) HAVE FEWER INJURIES TO KEY PLAYERS.
If all or even a couple of these things happen, I think Lou Piniella could see some success. I'm still not sure whether it would mean a World Series but, honestly, I'd just like the Cubbies to have a winning season and a shot at the post-season come October '07.
Go Cubs.

The differnece is, that the Tigers haven't even thrown a pitch yet in the World Series, and what about all the other Managerial changes?
So will the A's win it, or the Rangers, or the Marlins.
I say no on all four. The teams that are set up to win have the best chances. The Mets, Red Sox, Twins, Tigers, White Sox, Yankees, Angels, A's, Phillies and Astros are all ahead of the Cubs as far as talent is concerned.

The Cubs will win the World Series when all 3 of these happen:
1) Pigs fly
2) Hell freezes over
3) Ralph Nader becomes President of the United States

The other trend was that all of the prior teams had good young starting pitching and great bullpens.
The Cubs have neither so the trend of no world series wins for them should continue for some time.

Good theory but you forgot one common thing about the three teams mentioned, beside the Cubs, they all have/had good pitching and good lineups. The Cubs not so much right now! They need to make some noise in the free agent market and off-season trades. Plus, Pinella has not done anything as a manager.

A skipper is a big part but if you don't got the players it ain't never going to happen.

With so many trades and managers moving around ~
anything can happen!
There's no way to tell yet.
But it'd be nice to see the Cubs win something - anything ! : )
