As against abortion as i am it is still up to the individual because the medical community will not redefine life as beginning at conception .
We have all sorts or laws protecting the sick and injured and infermed and when we can pull the plug on people .
those laws are based on medical definitions of life and you need to get a definition that meets the need for protecting life from conception .
This will also include the births of children of rape which is not the child's fault .
Our concepts and morality is still so basic that we some how feel rape victims should not continue with the pregnency.
An individual is created at the moment the dna from male and female human beings complete the act of intercourse and within several hours a union of male and female dna combine and begin the long journey of life .Till we can accept this in our minds and laws we will continue to have abortions .
This like the death penelty is uncivilized behavior and needs to come to an end .Till we begin to look at life as a ones own personel journey which may include dozens of problems to over come we will not have any form of advanced and peacefull society .
Look at how many people are willing to kill others by the use of our military in foriegn lands .
This is part of our problem as people .We do not respect life but it is for the care and control of governments and families who directly influence the minds and attitudes of those it brings into the world .
Not only does abortion need to end but all forms of murder around the world .
We will never be free from those who would seek to kill others but the numbers of those killed would decline if met with no resistance .

Coming from more middle of the road political views, I don’t think the Republicans will ever outlaw abortion, yes they say they stand for it, but they get as many as the Democrats, The Democrats will never ban it either, The Republicans have the power in The House and Senate and Supreme Court to start to do something about it but they wont, simply because they will loose to many votes, Laura Bush did say on the Today show that "I don't think that [Roe] should be overturned." also, when you think about Roe Vs Wade, it was the opinion of the Court, written by Justice Harry Blackmun whom I might add was put on the Supreme court by Nixon, a Republican
.......... On a personal note, I Pray I never have to be in that position.

Enforce the existing laws. There are currently laws against murder, and no laws excepting unborn children. Therefore, all abortions are illegal, it just isn't enforced.
The only thing "legalizing" abortion is "Roe vs Wade", which is just a judicial ruling on a sinlge case. It is not a law, and does not override all laws that make murder illegal.
Somehow, our country has come to think that anything the Supreme Court says is a law. It isn't. According to all laws on the books, abortion is illegal. It is only cowardly politicians that don't enforce the laws that allow it to continue.

"Once their born though, they are on their own". So let me get this straight, let's make sure they get born and then forget them. Thank God, we have abortion otherwise, I can only imagine how many unwanted and uncared for kids this country would have!!!
So protect the unborn but not the born?
You need to get a dose of reality!!

Try to be original. Using the "My fellow Republicans" is something youve seen others do in the evening. How very Witty of you to copy Republicans when in truth, you are a baby killing flag burner. Are you able to think for yourself or are you just as you appear, a follower that is trying desperately to be liked and show others what a funny sense of humor you think that you have?
Sad, very sad.

I agree with you. Abortion is murder. Same abortionists decry capital punishment. That's how you know they're full of the devil - kill innocents and protect the guilty. Get you initiative together and I'll sign it.

I'm glad I know this isn't really your opinion because I already feel like a minority being in the pro-choice crowd; we don't need another overly vocal anti-choice male Conservative here.

Over half of all abortionists at retirement age and over. And no one is going into that "business" much anymore.
You figure it out.
