You didn't know that technically we are still at war with North Korea? It started in 1950 and is called the Korean War, for those of you that don't remember.
There was never a surrender on either side, and no treaties were signed, so technically we are still at war with North Korea. So propoganda or not, the reason the Korean people are convinced the United States and North Korea are still at war . . . is because they are still at war!
So, the obvious answer to your question would be to sign a treaty ending the Korean War. Then maybe Kim Jong Il would cease to consider us his number one enemy. You must remember, unlike most US citizens, he still remembers the war in which over 1 million of his people died (that's appoximately three hundred and thirty three 9-11s for you kids). He was a young boy of about 10 during the time. For some reason our leaders continue to refuse to do that . . . don't ask me why . . . perhaps it makes it easier for us to engage in hostile action against the Koreans should we so chose. But it would be a simple, symbolic act, with no negative consequences to us, that probably would relieve a lot of the tension between the countries, and likely would lead to a relaxation of the propoganda.

A war now with North Korea would be better now than five years from now. Why do progressives always want to push a bad situation off on their children or grandchildren? Is that what happened on 911?

complicated question.
suffice to say that north korea is a closed economy with a communist party as its government. the govt has control over all forms of communication- newspapers, tv, radio etc.
they use it to spread propaganda favorable to themselves with the threat of military action towards civilians. of course there are a rare few that has access to int'l news, but they are risking their lives and their families' by just having access....not like it does them any good in the near future.
whatever it is, the US should stop butting in other people's affairs, not like they havent earnt enough and spread their stupid culture all over the world already.
