Pilot fish and remoras swim beside sharks. They do not guide the shark...which is a common misconception. They eat the left over food bits.

Remoras!and or pilot fish. I think you're thinking of Remoras are more well known, they basicially are there to consume the parasites
and the waste itt leaves behing. It also helps them for hitching rides to farther places.
