When asked why I quit my last job, I don't want to tell them because "I didn't like the people and my boss treated us like children". How do i get around that one??

Actually liked my job..architectural drafting. I could've probably moved ahead some, but it was a very small company, so..who knows how far I would've gotten. I really shouldn't have quit there, but I did. My coworkers drove me nuts though. And my boss treated us like kids and wanted to get too close to us..he wanted us all to like 'family'. It was a good job otherwise!

say that you did not find the work challenging enough to give you long-term job satisfaction, from what you say this is probably true

You could say something like you were looking for another job opportunity that would allow you to grow and expand your skills and needed the temporary time off to focus on doing that. You could also say that you felt stiffled where you were. (I am sure that this was most likely the case as well- it is just not a good thing to start criticizing previous bosses at an interview, as you well know.)

You may want to say that you left because there were no opportunities for growth with that organization. That is nice and generic. Good luck!

You might consider telling them that you did not agree with the management style and that the dynamics between the employees were not aligned with your personal goals.

I felt like I had no more room to grow and I wanted new challenges.

It would help if we knew what kind of work you did.

you want to sound very diplomatic because no one hires someone who bad-mouths their previous employer. simply state that you were looking for more experience and opportunity elsewhere.
