They make that statement for the same reason they make any statement - that is what they want you to believe.

Only some conservatives think they are fair and balanced. It is obvious to most people that they are more of a tabloid then a news channel. Other networks might not be fair and balanced, but they are certainly better then Fox news. And most of their people don't try to hide where they are on the political scale.

So any news network that is not left wing is automatically conservative propaganda?
Give me a break.
I have stated this a couple of time before, but no liberal has agreed to take the Pepsi challenge and compare news network.
Watch Fox news for one week mark down every time a conservative correspondent appears and every time a liberal one does. if you are truly honest you will see that Fox news is just about even.
Then do the same for CNN, again if you are honest about whom you mark as which, you will be shocked at how slanted CNN is towards the left and how split down the middle Fox is.
Any takers? Or is two weeks time to much for a liberal to commit to finding the truth?

whilst i'm strolling the treadmill, i bypass lower back and forth from Fox to the Morning Joe on MSNBC or the Early teach and on the instant on NBC or to CNN, and that i've got have been given to provide help to recognize that the unfairness is so obvious everywhere, different than on Fox. Fox quite does supply the two sides of a narrative. you do not see that everywhere else

The way I see it, both Fox and everyone else are slanted. Fox to the right, everyone else to the left.
I've yet to see a channel that supports both equally. IMHO, all you Dems and Reps... ya'll are on the wrong side. Stand for truth, and what is good... not for the left or for the right.

Well, I watch Fox, and I noticed that they rarely argue about a mistake made from the Democrats or the Republicans. Thay are fair and balanced.

Maybe fair that a viewpoint other than the left's is being made available. Maybe balanced because it helps equal things out or because they do have open debate on the network with the 'other side'
I do not think any news outlet is completely objective.

They use the slogan "fair and balanced" because they try to represent both sides of the story. They also try to showcase other news that is going on across the nation and the world other than what the "other" news channels are showing. Show me one other news channel that does that. If they are anti-war then that is all the other channels show. Fox news shows both sides and yes, I do believe it.

Many people believe the "News" they spew.
They probably do know their reputation.
Their defenition of fair and balanced is sort of like calling a dog a cat, spin, spin, spin.

Fox is our answer for CNN.
Don't be mad. CNN has been out and raping our country for years. Finally get a news station in that supports it and you get mad.
