Sorry, not sure of the most correct way to phrase this question, but a New Zealander friend has been saying that there are no "full-blood" maori people left. Obviously maori people and culture survive and thrive, but are there really no people left who have complete direct ancestry from maori tribes on both sides of their family??

I agree that 'full blood' is not necessarily a useful construct. I think that the real concern is that the maori culture is preserved and continues as part of the diversity of the planet, but I was surprised at this comment and wondered if it was true or just a myth.
