Anyone who has lived in Europe will notice, the Europeans are more open to sexuality than the Americans. Why?

I've always believed it was based on the fact that America was founded by Puritans and religion has always been a part of our laws and everyday lifestyle.
It seems to be getting better. There certainly is something very disturbing about people being more paranoid about their children seeing sexual content than violence. Both are natural things, but if we were more open about sex in a POSITIVE way, then children would be more educated and familiar with it and less likely to make stupid decisions.
If you grow up not knowing much about sex or only seeing it as dirty thing, then you aren't going to know what to avoid or how to be careful.

I think it has to do with age difference as a nation. Europe and all of her countries are old and have been around the block...America is in some ways still just a naive child.

I've always wondered the same thing, Europeans are way more open than us Americans, even your commercials are racey. Don't know, but I like the question.

Because the women here are stuck up and prudes and keep their standards of men so high that there's no way they would date an average guy. Which there are more of than the perfect prince they've bulit in their heads.

am european and all i can say is no matter where you are you will allways find some people that are more open to sexuality than others.

because as kids we are taught that anything sexual, even our own bodies is "naughty", and some of us nevr get over it. I went to a south american hotel....the only women at the pool wearing tops were the americans

Religion. In America murder and violence is the norm, but if 2 people want to enjoy eachothers company, oh dear god no we cant have any of that!

I think Americans are just as seaually open... Sometimes (if you get lucky) even more open :)
