I love Pacino, but I would say DeNiro... 'cause he's done more variety of movies..

Both are great. Having said that, I lean more towards DeNiro, because of some memorable roles mainly in the 70's and 80's. I'll never forget the russian roulette scene in "The Deer Hunter" or the monologue in "Taxi Driver". He also protrayed a wife beating alcoholic boxer in "The Raging Bull" in a fantastic way. And my favorite DeNiro character which was the young Vito Corleone trying to become the ultimate mafia Don in "The Godfather II".

I would have to say DeNiro - I forgive him for his crappy comedies, but as much as I also love Pacino, I cannot forgive him for his lame romances and those god-awful films like Two for the Money.

Al Pacino, in my humble opinion. Although both great, Pacino can act without saying a word.

Genreally, De Niro. Mainly because of Taxi Driver and Raging Bull.
Pacino's done a lot more hammy, OTT roles.
The trouble with De Niro has been more recent, re: Fockers.
