I am 23 so have never really experienced simpler times but I would love to live in an age where children could play in the streets, teenagers weren't getting pregnant and drunk and everything moved at a slower pace. I was watching 'only fools and horses' the other day (UK program) and Del sat down to chat to a young boy of about 5 years old, he cheered the lad up and walked him back to his house holding his hand. These days that would never be shown on TV for fear or being accused of being a pedophile. I wish the world was a more innocent place where kids were safe and the world wasn't a politically correct nightmare. That's how it is in the UK anyway. Mobile phones and computers have made a generation of young people who cannot spell or use correct grammar and who also can't hold a decent conversation. It would be lovely to have families happy and together, not thousands of single mothers with their children's dads not wanting to have anything to do with them. I know break ups and single parents have been around for a long long time but these days girls don't seem to care any more. In short, yes... I wish we lived in simpler times!

I didn't really live in simpler times, so I can't say I miss them.

However, I do agree with you. I laugh at the people who are always using their cell phones or some other device to keep them connected to their work.

Someone here at work was describing some technology that our director uses in his car, which at the push of a button switches from a car alarm to a voice-activated phone system, or some such. I laughed, saying "gosh, all I do in MY car is drive it!"

Personally, I'm keeping my life as simple as possible. Although I will take advantage of technology which may actually improve the quality of my life. I don't think there's much more that can be done though. After all, they say that even with washing machines and vacuum cleaners, people still spend nearly as much time on housework as they did in the past!

No, because even with the age of modern technology. I keep my prioities inorder. God, Family, Friends, no exceptions. Life is only her for a short peiord of time. One must be aware of how they live it so as not to come to the end and wish they would have done more. I make it a point to have dinner with family at the table every evening, great time to catch up after a very busy day. Homework time is also another great time. Just turn the t.v, computer off and make time. Good luck and God bless

I too yearn for the "simpler times". I think the TV, internet, and cell phone are great, but sometimes I think they just add stress to our lives. It seems like (at least here in America) that life goes so fast. We are always in a hurry. I think we forget to live. Actually, this reminds me of a book I read called "Quiet Mind: One-Minute Retreats from a Busy World" by David Kundtz ( http://tinyurl.com/ykrml5 ). You should check it out, I think you'd enjoy it. And, maybe it would help you to feel more like you are in a simpler time; it did for me.

Yes i do. But then i was only a child and thought as a child did. the world did not bother me and i had no worries. I am sure my parents had many things too worry about though. Every generation worries about the same things. Crime, drugs and how their children will grow up in such a violent world. There never were any simpler times only your perception of them has changed as you grew older.

Yes, I certainly do. I remember as a kid that I knew EVERYONE in my neighborhood, and that was great. Nowadays you are very fortunate to know your next door neighbor, much less anyone else on the block!! Not to mention knowing anyone else in the neighborhood!! Blah! It sucks, people are so preoccupied chasing the carrot that they just don't care about building meaningful relationships. The modern world is nice with all of its CONVEINIENCES, but in doing so, we have ripped the true heart of America clean out of its chest!!! Peace

relies upon what you propose through easier. Arguably there hasn't ever been a less complicated time to stay than now. you could elect to elect out of society in a fashion that develop into no longer accessible to formerly generations. bodily existence is amazingly a lot a lot less stressful than ever till now. maximum people elect to elect in, yet we can confirm through how a lot. I extremely were to both extremes, and that i have stumbled on a aspect someplace between that works for me. many people look to remorseful about the glaring complexity of human relationships now compared to previous a lengthy time period. i might want to argue that in that appreciate little has replaced except that women people now no longer ought to play the subordinate position. There are notwithstanding those who wish that they could play that subordinate position rather of getting to make all their personal judgements. i think that those similar people, armed with their present day understanding, might want to quickly tire of the region in which they stumbled on themselves. yet i'd properly be incorrect... i do not imagine there ever develop right into a "easier time" except in fiction and folk's minds.
