I know that some of these may seem obvious but please don't take it wrong. I just want to answer the question to the best of my knowledge.
1) Make sure your sound card is installed correctly.
2) Make sure that your speakers are plugged into the correct spot in your computer.
3) Make sure that you have turned up the volume.
4) Make sure that you have turned on yoru speakers.
5) After going through the last four steps, if there is still no sound coming out of your speakers, I would say that your speakers are probably not working. Maybe you should buy a new speaker.

There could be many problems:
1. Conflicting device.
2. Speaker not turned on
3. Sound setting in pc turned to mute.
4. Speaker faulty
5. Sound setting in pc set to the minimum for the master volume and wave volume.
Try pluggin in earphones to see if there is sound

Try asking in the "hardware" section of Y!Answers, as your problem has nothing to do with programming or design.
Good luck!

If your computer is not working properly when it is switched on, there is a hardware problem.
