One of the best ways to look taller without heels is by wearing vertical pin stripes... they give the illusion of an enlongated body and will also give the added bonus of making you seem thinner.

General tips:
Stand up straight. Bad posture will ruin even the best outfit.
Vertical lines. This doesn't have to be a stripe (pin or other) It can be visible stitching or something that draws the eye up and down.
Monochromatic dressing will make you look longer and leaner, but do this with care. Avoid vivid colors for this, they will overwhelm you.
Stick with tailored looks, use seaming and darts to keep clothing close to your body.
No cuffs on jackets or pants.
Avoid pleates, ruffles, runched fabrics, and anything else that adds bulk.
When wearing a belt, it should be thin and the same color as your pants so you don't break up your body line.
The seaming and cut should be smooth, not flared. Try a straight cut pant in darker colors to elongate your legs.
Avoid big prints, patterns, and wide stripes in any direction.
Capri pants are usually considered a no-no.
Knee length skirts are best. A shorter skirt can just make you look squat.
Avoid very short skirts, and mid0calf skirts.
When wearing a skirts and dresses, your hose and shoes should be the same color scheme as the skirt or dress. Light dress = nude hose and light shoes. Dark dress = dark hose and shoes.
Closed toe shoes with a longer toe (pointy is best, but a slight square or rounded one can work.) Don't buy short toe shoes that have a blunt toe to them.
Avoid and shoes with ankle straps or straps across the top of the foot. It gives a line that cuts your leg in two.
That's all I can remember for now. Just try things on before you buy them. Make sure you have a full length mirror to see how it looks.

My understanding is if you wear all the same color clothes it give more an impression of height. But caution with black as it needs to be the same color and blacks are kinda weird not all the same.

by all means wear vertical stripes that really helps !!!!!!!!!!and if u r a women wear your hair a little poofed
