The hard drive (Which is the Core of an iPod) is Extremely sensitive to sudden knocks and bangs!
I can only assume that the impact has Trashed the hard drive!SORRY!
If it's under warranty - then why Not try An Apple Retail outlet.Maybe bluff another out of them!? Worth a Shot!

Alternatively, have you got Accidental Damage Insurance for items out of the house?

If your screen is acting that way - you probably busted the screen. If it's charging o.k. - then it's not a problem with the hard drive.

Also, you could check and see if you can play songs off it it (you'll just have to push buttons until you get a song) - if that works - then your screen is busted. If it doesn't - then you might have a hard drive problem.

I don't think a warranty will cover things like dropping it. Though you can call up Apple (or goto an Apple Store) and see how much it would cost to fix it.

Good luck to you!

What you are going to need to do is replace the screen. the same thing happened with my friends I-pod last year and she had to get hers fixed as well. you can go to a site and send it in or some people know how to fix them. Below are some sites that might be able to assist you.
